1. The Euclidean Algorithm, Reading the first and second sections was like re-listening to the lecture, even the diagrams were the same. Makes it easier to be organized when the lectures follow the book. I re-read the algorithm to get it down and I feel comfortable with it, but it takes longer to read math than other stuff, like the introduction.
2. I suppose that I should go through my abstract algebra again, reading the Euclidean Algorithm has made me want to review the Chinese remainder theorem and a few other theorems. I suppose that this isn't really answering what is difficut about this particular reading, but this chapter (ch 3) has a lot of algebra in it that will probably take more time to re-internalize than other material. And I am taking 372 in the Winter, and it has been a few years since 371.
